Liz Yerkes

Liz Yerkes graduated from Boulder School of Massage in Boulder, Colorado in 1989. Her studies included Anatomy and Physiology, Swedish Massage, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Neuromuscular Massage, Aromatherapy, several Psychology classes, Business Classes, etc. Students worked in an actual clinic, which was a great hands-on learning experience. After graduation, Liz worked for two years in a chiropractic office, primarily handling injury cases, then moved to Florida in 1991.

She places a great deal of importance on expanding and sharpening her skillset, and is continually in search of better ways to help her clients. Her continuing education has included two classes in Myofascial Release, additional Neuromuscular classes, Oncology Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Active Isolated Stretching, and Positional Release. One of Liz's special interests is working with people who are having issues with TMJ (temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders). She enjoys helping others reduce discomfort and lessen their severity of headaches and jaw pain.

Liz prides herself on her ability to tune-in effortlessly to a person's pain threshold, and she uses a variety of techniques depending upon the conditions that present themselves, in addition to what the client is trying to accomplish. "No pain, no gain" is not a theory used at Longboat Massage.

Taking each customer's individual needs into consideration and formulating a custom massage session or series of sessions around those needs is Liz's preference and specialty. Every person is different, and so are their lifestyles, needs and wants. Therefore, every massage is different, and is based on those key elements.
